Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information EmuTree Group Pty Ltd (ABN 69 660 697 727) ("EmuTree", "we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored in hashed form, not as readable text.
  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items you order and your order history.
  • Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google data.
  • Messages: what you send us when you contact us or ask about an order or return.
  • Browsing information: the pages and products you view on this site, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, and a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser (see "Cookies and browsing information" below). This identifier is not your name or email address.
  • Payment: the payment methods offered are shown at checkout. At present the method offered is cash on delivery, and we do not collect or store payment card details on this site.

How we use it

  • To take, process and deliver your orders, and to handle returns, refunds and questions.
  • To create and run your account and keep it secure.
  • To send you emails about your account and orders, such as order confirmations and password resets.
  • To show you product recommendations based on what you and other shoppers view on the site.
  • To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

We will only send you marketing messages if the law allows it or you have agreed, and every such message will let you unsubscribe.

Google user data

If you choose "Sign in with Google", we ask Google for the following information about you, through the standard Google sign-in scopes openid, email and profile:

  • What we receive: your name, your email address and your profile picture. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service or data.
  • How we use it: only to create your customer account and sign you in to this store, and to send you emails about your account and orders. We do not use it for advertising.
  • Sharing: we do not sell it and we do not share it with third parties, other than the service providers needed to run the store and deliver your emails (see "Who we share it with"), and where the law requires it. We do not transfer it to anyone for advertising, and no person reads it except to operate the store, to provide support, or to comply with the law.
  • How long we keep it: for as long as your account exists. Order and transaction records are kept for 7 years, as set out below.
  • Deleting it: email support@warpdriven.com.au and ask us to delete your account, or revoke this store's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies and browsing information

This site uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and recognise a returning visitor. It also stores a random identifier in your browser, and a session identifier that lasts for the visit. With these we record which pages and products are viewed (page address, referring page, browser and device type) and send that to our recommendation service, operated for us by WarpDriven, so the site can suggest products you may like. We do not send your name, email address or delivery details to the recommendation service.

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site, such as the cart and signing in, may not work.

Who we share it with

  • Suppliers who ship your order. Orders are shipped direct from the maker, so to fulfil an order we give your name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered to the supplier who ships it. These suppliers are located in Italy and mainland China, so your information is disclosed to recipients overseas. We give a supplier only what it needs to ship your order.
  • Our technology provider. WarpDriven provides and operates the platform this site runs on, including the recommendation service described above.
  • Email delivery. Emails we send you are delivered through Zoho Mail, so your email address and the message content pass through that service.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to what Google holds.
  • Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it or where we need advice to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information.

Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored hashed, and access to customer information is limited to people who need it to run the store. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

We keep order and transaction records for 7 years, including after an account is closed, to meet our tax and accounting record-keeping obligations. We keep other personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing support@warpdriven.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can also ask us to delete your account.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your personal information wrongly, please contact us first at support@warpdriven.com.au and we will investigate and reply. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with its date at the top.
